Been flying 47yrs. My wife rated also. To fly VFR we will not use the controlers if you do this. IFR is controled. Most light planes fly vfr. A 747 jet uses 4000+ gal. per Hr.737 1000 gal. per Hr. Tax them. we pay 5 to 6 dollars a gal. for aviation gas now. There will be few new pilots at this rate. Europe pilots come here to train. Check it out.
