I am starting this petition because I have a young child that I have the duty of protecting. Therefore, I cannot imagine a man or women sexually abusing my child and getting away with it. Rather it be with a short sentence or a long sentence: these horrible people will still be able to socialize, have three meals a day, hot showers and the possibility of getting out on parole with "good behavior". I have seen so many cases lately where rapists and sex offenders are murdering and/or abusing (especially children) and are able to live a somewhat normal life while the victim cannot. To me that sends a message to everyone: the justice system takes the offense lightly. I believe these people should be put to death as soon as factual evidence is found so that they cannot commit the crime again.
