The U.S. penny is a drain on the US economy and federal budget. It costs more than one cent to produce, it's value is too low to encourage the exchange of goods and services, and the lack of services that accept it, including vending machines, laundry machines, toll booths, parking meters, etc. It's value decreases every year, while the U.S. Mint creates more and more of these useless coins.
Therefore, We the People of the United States of America petition the Federal Government, and specifically the Obama Administration, to end the production of pennies and to seek a way of removing them from circulation.
