As gun rights advocates in America, we deserve the chance to make a rebuttal to the accusations, misinformation, and illogical comparisons that have been leveled against us with increasing frequency. It has been asserted that those who support gun control want to protect our children and those who support gun rights are indifferent to the violence in this country. I assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. We recognize that the police cannot be everywhere and that when all other lines of defense fail, it is up to us to stand between our families, our children, and evil. We petition you for debate because the time has come for America to see both sides on equal footing and decide for themselves where they fall on this cornerstone issue of American freedom.
