Debt ceiling: Cut Congress' pension funds as the 1st source of govt savings if Congress fails to pass new debt ceiling

Created by S.G. on January 13, 2013

If Congress fails to increase the debt ceiling, the first portion of required government savings will come from a reduction in Congress' pension funds payable to all current and retired members of Congress. The government's pension fund liabilities owed to Congressional beneficiaries should be reduced to $0 before any other cut to government spending begins.
