I would like to petition the President to continue with this tradition and grant 26 December 2014, by Executive Order, as either a Federal Holiday or Administrative time off for all government workers.
In past years, whenever Christmas has fallen on a Tuesday (Monday was granted) or Thursday (Friday was granted) only, the preceeding or following day was given by Executive Order as a Federal Holiday or paid Administrative leave for all government employees. As Christmas falls on different days each year, this Executive Order was only granted in years where the Holiday fell on these two days, as it does again this year.
