Declare the 2nd Friday of December to be National Victims of Gun Violence Remembrance Day.

Created by M.K. on December 15, 2012

A day should annually be set aside as a day of remembrance for the victims of gun violence. The nation should pause, at least once a year, to consider the sheer magnitude of the numbers of victims felled by senseless acts of gun violence, with the hope that eventually we can, as a nation, face the fact that this violence is not acceptable in our civilized society and that the right to Life, Liberty, and Happiness is just as, if not more, important as the right to bear arms. My hope is that, in due course, such a day would no longer be necessary.
