We ask that the United States government declare that all funerals are federally protected events, whereby it will be henceforth a felony to protest, harass, or disparage any funeral attendees or the deceased within a 10 mile radius of the funeral home, the funeral procession and its route, and/or the cemetery or grave site where the funeral and burial will take place. We ask that this be made federal law, and that the violation of this law by any individual be punishable by a minimum sentence of a $10,000 fine and 5 years in federal prison with no option for parole.
With home grown terrorist groups like Westboro Baptist Church terrorizing grieving families with threats and hateful rhetoric, we find it necessary to request this law, and conclude that it is reasonable and just.
