declare the Americans for Tax Reform Pledge to be unconstitutional, pursuant to the 16th Amendment of the Constitution.

Created by K.M. on November 13, 2012

A pledge put forth by Grover Norquist, President of the Americans for Tax Reform group, and the government officials who signed the pledge, are in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States. Pledging allegiance to an entity that refuses to impose taxes of any kind, regardless of nature or context, is a violation of each citizen's right to be lawfully represented in Congress. Signing a document that refuses to impose tax, that is not accessible to the people within the district represented by such Congressperson is in clear violation of the following Constitutional statutes: Article I, Section 8; 16th Amendment of the Bill of Rights. I petition that Grover Norquist, and the government officials who signed this pledge, be indicted for failure to lawfully represent US citizens.
