In the case of White v. Texas (74 US 700, 1869), the majority opinion written by US Supreme Court Justice Salmon P. Chase held that there is no Constitutional provision for secession from the United States of America. In addition, the majority opinion held that unilateral secession from the United States, once a state has acceded to inclusion in the United States, is not permitted. Based on the findings of the US Supreme Courts in the case of White v. Texas, this petition requests that the President of the United States vacate and find null and void any individual petition (that is not the result of the majority vote of a duly authorized State Legislature, endorsed by that State's Governor) requesting or suggesting that State's secession from the United States of America.
