"National Movie Riffing Day" will celebrate and acknowledge the contributions to our culture the art of "movie riffing," spearheaded by great creative minds such as Joel Hodgson, Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, Bill Corbett and others, has had. Not only does it create a unique form of entertainment, it lifts unknown films out of obscurity and makes them part of our pop culture zeitgeist, such as Manos: The Hands of Fate, The Final Sacrifice, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and many, many more. April 19th should become a day where we take chances on bad movies by giving us a different, yet still valid, reason to love them through the art of riffing.
