President Obama, the city of Chicago (which you call home), is and has been in a state of emergency for years. Homicides are frightening innocent citizens; lawlessness in the West and South Side areas of the city is out of control. Peaceful and law-abiding citizens need protection, and the police are spread too thin.
Mobilize the Illinois National Guard. Send a brigade totaling 4,000. Split the brigade into 40 platoons of 100 soldiers and work with the Illinois governor and Chicago mayor to establish checkpoints and safe zones.
Many areas of Chicago should be treated as a war zone, because those that terrorize them treat it as their territory; we need to take back our towns from ruthless aggressors, criminals, and gangs that disturb the peace and hurt our people.
