The Superbowl averages nearly 111 million viewers per year, or a little more than one-third of the country's population. In 2012, Superbowl XLVI had an estimated audience of over 167 million, or more than one-half of the population of the U.S.
People need to sleep the day after the Superbowl. Whether due to celebration or depression, "Superbowl Monday" needs to be a day of relaxation and rejuvenation. Work is inappropriate on that day.
