Declare the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve as holidays for federal employees.

Federal Employees have recently been put through a great deal of stress. Many employees were furloughed and did not know when if they would be paid for the time they were furloughed. Others had to work during the furlough, but were not paid during this time. The continued assault on federal employees has negatively impacted morale in offices. The large majority of federal employees are devoted to serving the public, yet they face constant attacks from the media, public and now the legislative branch. The President can provide a boost in morale by declaring the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve as holidays for all executive branch employees this year. Declaring these dates as federal holidays will greatly increase morale following the shutdown.
