Federal Employees have dealt with pay freezes and furloughs over the past few years. Giving federal employees an extra holiday on November 27th, 2015 would be a good gesture to improve morale of the federal workforce. Also as a VBA employee, we have been working mandatory overtime (OT) for the past year. Even though mandatory overtime has ended, employees continue to work OT on a voluntary basis. In addition, this is also consistent with past practice. President Obama provided a full-day, Friday, November 28, 2014, Monday Dec. 24, 2012 and a half-day off on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009.
