The proliferation of military style assault weapons is creating dangerous conditions for law enforcment agencies as well as families. Police and law enforcement are continuously increasing their firepower and personal safety gear in response. Their lives are at increasing risk and the cost to taxpayers is tremendous. Assault weapons should be regulated as a national security issue in the same manner as explosives, certain chemicals, and other dangerous items that have the capability to cause massive numbers of fatalities.
