We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Declare the death of Harambe as a national tragedy

Created by E.J. on August 05, 2016

On May 28, 2016, Harambe, an endangered Silverback Gorilla, was shot and killed after trying to protect a three-year-old boy. After falling into the gorilla's enclosed habitat, Harambe had approached the boy and picked him up. Harambe then carried the boy away as to protect him from the keepers. Making a harsh decision, the keepers had shot Harambe to stop him from injuring the boy. The Congress of The United States of America should declare Harambe's death as a National Tragedy, serving as a reminder to all citizens that wildlife should be treated with respect.
