Declare the "Drug War" as "WON" and completely cease and desist in enforcing obsolete and discriminatory drug laws.

Created by R.F. on September 26, 2012

The 'drug war', decades old, has cost the American tax payer a trillion dollars or more and led to the incarceration of thousands of individuals who have not committed a violent crime. Drug use, whether for medical or recreational use, is not [and therefore should not] be treated as a criminal problem; It is and therefore should be treated as a medical issue or problem. As policy, all drugs should be heavily taxed.
The American taxpayer will see huge savings in law enforcement at every level when the current policy is reversed. Black markets produce unwanted crime. Young people have their lives ruined, not so much by drug use, but surely for the criminal record that comes with violating these antiquated sets of laws that are indiscriminately enforced.
