Education should be held as a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT. States have a "duty" to provide education to all students equally within their state/district. State and federal goverments impose laws and legislation related to education. School systems and courts impose fines and other consequences on parents of students who do not send their children to school. Yet, when it comes to an individual challenging education in a court of law, it is held by Supreme Courts that individuals do not have a fundamental RIGHT to education. Children get taken advantage of because of this. If education, equally to all, is required by the law, it ought to be an individual's fundamental right to obtain an education. Our society and economy will self-destruct without educating individuals beyond what we learn on our own.
