Voter turnout was only 34% in 2014. We can improve this number and encourage all US Citizens to vote by actually making the day a National Holiday. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible to get time off from work to go out on vote. True democracy can exist if all citizens are given every opportunity to vote for the candidate that they believe would best represent their interests.
It is time to make Election Day a National Holiday and this should be a bipartisan issue because we, as Americans, deserve the right and the opportunity to vote.
