Federal Employees have dealt with pay freezes and furloughs over the past few years. Giving federal employees an extra holiday on December 26th, 2014, and January 2nd, 2015, would be a good gesture to improve the morale of the federal workforce. It would be really appreciated to have this declared 'in advance' so employees, facilities/building managers, and families could plan: the leave usage for another day; prepare as much as possible to shut down facilities/buildings energy, lighting, etc.; and, for families to plan that extra time together - positively impacting the environment, energy reduction, and family-friendly work place!
