This petition is meant to call upon President Obama to declare a federal holiday on Election day to boost turnout by allowing at least federal workers a day off in a way which can increase voter participation while being clearly and unequivocally within executive authority. This is a first step in making elections more fair, but I think anything that could be done should be.
