Declare Flint, MI contaminated water a public health crisis and use federal money to restore and repair water systems.

This petition is in response to the humanitarian crisis currently occurring in Flint, MI. This crisis needs the Obama Administration to take over its management because the state and local government are not responding with the speed, intensity, and transparency required. Children need lead exposure testing. Citizens cannot use the water coming into their homes for bathing, cooking, washing clothes or any other domestic purpose and they will need new plumbing uncompromised by the decision to change the water source to the corrosive Flint River as well as flouting the Clean Water Act rule to treat it before using it as a source for the population. Flint needs the CDC, FEMA, the Justice Department, and the President to act to remedy this horrific situation.
