When the state of Michigan switched the water supply for Flint to the Flint River, the river water caused pipes in the city to leech lead. The state then denied the increased lead levels found in the children of Flint. The majority of the people of Flint are below the poverty line and need clean water now. Flint residents are paying for the poisoned water and attempting to get clean water.
