Declare June 26th, 2014 to be a National Holiday to Show Support for the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team

Created by D.N. on June 23, 2014

SEAL Team Six caught Osama Bin Laden on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Neil Armstrong took one small step on Sunday July 20, 1969. Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on New Years Day, 1863. George Washington crossed the Delaware on Christmas Day, 1776.

The great men of our proud nation not only performed these acts; they had the wherewithal to do so on days when the American people were not at work, so that we could with our undivided attention better appreciate the magnitude of their achievements.

Unfortunately for our latest group of such men, the US Men's National Soccer Team, the timing is out of their control. Therefore, I humbly ask that Thursday June 26th, 2014 be declared national holiday for the team's final group stage match against Germany. I believe that we will win.
