Our active duty military & veterans have suffered enough from declining access to behavioral health care. The hiring of Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) would greatly affect change in the number of suicides, treatment of PTSD, and other related behavioral health issues suffered by our military. It is time to stop the neglect and improve our military's chances of survival at home. Recent USAToday publication and the "Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans Act" reflects this great need. Are we going to help or hurt our military? Speak up for your sons, daughters, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, friends, etc. There is an entire of population of providers waiting to help and cannot be hired because lawmakers will not take the time to revise the law/regulations.
