Fred Rogers is a man many of us grew up watching on PBS. When PBS was just starting out, and the Nixon administration wanted to cut their funding, he spoke to Congress and convinced them not to do so. He taught many of us kindness, to love not only one another, but ourselves. He let us know each and every one of us was special in our own ways. He taught us more than tolerance, but acceptance of one another, no matter how different. He showed us that we were all part of a neighborhood together. This petition is for his birthday, March 20th, to be declared a national holiday, a day to remember him and everything he taught us. A day of acceptance for everyone, regardless of race, religion, and disability.
