Declare the Monday directly following Super Bowl Sunday to be a federal holiday.

Created by S.S. on December 08, 2015

In 2015, an estimated 114 million American citizens watched the Super Bowl, making it the most-viewed television broadcast in history and one of the largest location-independent gatherings of American people to date.
We, the American public, petition the Obama Administration to declare the Monday following Super Bowl Sunday a federal holiday. By doing so, the Obama Administration can promote a shared American cultural event that crosses all races, religions, and creeds. This holiday would take the least productive day of the year, and make it a planned absence for employees, helping employers be better prepared for the inevitable loss of productivity. It would also be a truly AMERICAN holiday, recognizing a pastime that is already a staple in the lives of over 1/3rd of the nations citizens
