Given that almost all Americans, regardless of political party, religion, ethnicity, personal wealth, or creed, enjoy the spectacle of the National Football League's championship game (also known as the Super Bowl), we ask that the Monday immediately following Super Bowl Sunday be declared a federal holiday.
Among the benefits of this action:
- Fewer drivers on the road in the 12 hours following the Super Bowl suffering the effects of intoxication
- Increased ability for retail economic stimulation as those with day off can purchase Super Bowl merchandise the next day
- Greater feelings of goodwill amongst Americans as their shared Super Bowl experience lasts one day longer.
