Declare Monsanto a monopoly on the U.S. seed bank and break up this control over our seed banks.

Urgent food safety issue needs action now!
Monsanto owns patents on nearly all the genetically modified traits used in corn, soy, cotton, and others in the U.S. Seed Bank and worldwide. Their seeds are designed to only respond to weed control by Monsanto's own Round Up. Monsanto sues farmers (that have Monsanto seeds blown into their fields) for seed patent infringement. Their seeds compromise the heartiness of plants against problems such as blight. Additionally, Monsanto seeds are genetically designed not to reproduce so there is a yearly replacement cost to farmers.

In 2012, the U.S. Justice Department mysteriously dropped anti-trust cases against Monsanto.
