Live locally produced television has declined in America. A job creating engine has been lost. These jobs cannot be outsourced. They give a voice to local arts, entertainment, and public interest television, and besides, live TV is the best TV.
The greatest innovators in locally produced live television came from Cleveland, Ohio, with Ghoulardi standing at the top of the heap. To honor the 50th Anniversary of Ghoulardi hitting the airwaves in Cleveland in January, 1963, the United States should declare the month of January "Ghoulardi Memorial Live Local Television Month" in honor of Ernie Anderson, who created the greatest local live television programming in the history of human thought, endeavor, and overall entertainment. The goal is to create local jobs.
