Declare a moratorium on fracking until multiple independent scientific studies can show it is a non-hazardous practice.

Fracking has been shown to damage land, livestock, water resources, and human health. However, the practice is expanding in many parts of the country. Allowing the practice to occur with no data to show that it is safe for land, people and groundwater seems as foolish as trusting Big Tobacco's assertion that smoking doesn't cause cancer. Independent studies of fracking and its costs should satisfy all players that the practice is both safe and beneficial to the economy while minimizing damage to landscapes and groundwater. Additionally, the chemicals used in water for fracking should be disclosed to the public so that doctors and veterinarians will know how to treat those sickened by fracking.
