Declare a moratorium on hydrofracking extraction of natural gas for ten years until further research can be done.

Created by K.C. on September 24, 2011

As has been seen in a number of western states and in Pennsylvania, hydrofracking is a process of natural gas extraction that pollutes both the air and the water. It is also a drain on water resources, and the truck traffic necessary to conduct hydrofracking also contributes to pollution and the denigration of communities. Until enough scientific third party research has been conducted to determine a way to hydrofrack without such an enormous risk to the environment, the government should halt this harmful practice so that no more communities are damaged.
