Declare a National State of Emergency on January 1, 2013 should Congress fail to resolve the fiscal cliff.

Created by S.L. on December 27, 2012

Falling over the so-called fiscal cliff and the continual brinkmanship over raising the debt ceiling pose too great a threat to our economy and the security and well-being of our citizens. Under an Emergency Declaration, the Administration can act to suspend any spending cuts and tax increases that it determines would be gravely harmful to the country. The Declaration would expire the day that Congress passes and delivers to the President a comprehensive fix to the problems they have created by inaction and partisanship.
