Every year 38,000 individuals in the U.S. complete a suicide attempt; there are 713,000 visits to the emergency room for suicide attempts; 4,600 youths each year commit suicide, making it the third leading cause of death among youths. This holiday would celebrate the lives and achievements of those among us who have survived a suicide attempt or who have struggle with thoughts of ending their lives.
