The "Proponents of National Robe Day" (PoNRD) respectfully request that January 1 be recognized as "National Robe Day". Americans can opt to celebrate this nondenominational holiday by wearing any type of robe (bath, Jedi or other) in public.
We must acknowledge that the People of the United States of America had just spent the prior week boosting the economy by shopping online or in crowded malls. Just before Jan 1, Americans spent the Eve further helping the economy by purchasing copious amounts of alcohol at extremely inflated prices - voluntarily infusing even more funds into local small/medium businesses.
Next Jan 1st, is it not too much to ask that we reward these efforts by encouraging Americans to dress in warm, comfy robes as they stumble to a late lunch? Let's make it happen!
