declare October 5th "Inventor's Day"

On October 5th, 2011, one of the greatest American inventors and innovators of this generation passed away. In honor of Steve Jobs, we propose that October 5th of each year be declared "Inventor's Day."
The goal is that on that day, all Americans should be encouraged to create something brand new, no matter how small. This will return America's reputation as being the world's great melting pot of ideas.
Hopefully, reminding Americans every year that great things were born from humble beginnings will reignite the innovative and competitive drive that led to such visionary creations as telecommunications, the Apollo program, and, of course, Apple, its imitators, and its competitors.
All that's needed is a push toward assuming not that you will fail, but that you will succeed.
