For too long, the debate of what the correct pronunciation of GIF is has divided our nation into two. Brothers have fought against brothers, husbands against wives, teachers against students, and internet commenters against internet commenters.
It is time for this unnecessary civil unrest to end.
It is time for the Obama administration to take a stance and, once and for all, declare into law that the correct, legal pronunciation is that with a soft g sound.
