declare Patriot's Day a national holiday, to highlight our indomitable spirit and serve as a day to reflect.

Created by D.W. on April 22, 2013

Serving as a reminder of the perseverance of the American people, the recent Boston Marathon bombings were a sad reflection of the state of the world; however, it also highlighted an American spirit that refuses to back down or be terrorized. These latest bombings occurred on Patriot's Day, a state holiday in Massachusetts and sent a shock-wave throughout not only the United States but the world over. I wish for the administration to expand Patriot's Day to a national holiday, one to stop and reflect on the spirit of America in the face of these terrorist-borne tragedies, a day to thank our first responders, and a day to re-familiarize ourselves with the true aspect of patriotism.
