We The People who love our cats call for an end to the unecessary and physically harmful practice of declawing felines (aka feline onycectomy) within all states and territories of the United States of America.
Declawing a cat is a physicially painful and a 100% unecessary procedure done for the benefit of cat owners, not the cats themselves. The procedure is painful, both physical and psychological, is the feline equivalent of removing a human being's first finger joint, and can lead to serious complications and even death. It is mutilation.
This petition shall make declawing a misdemeanor in the United States, with maximum penalties for cat owners who violate the law up to $10,000 and 1 year in prision, and veterenarians up to $50,000 and 5 years in prison who perform onycetcomies
