It should be illegal in the United states to knowlingly sell, transport, or be in possession of equine meat that will be used for human consumption. This includes horse, donkey, mule
1) Butchering horses for human consumption was made legal in 2011. However, like dogs and cats, the Humane Society has labels horses as "companions." So, if we eat horse meat, what's next? Dogs? Cats?
2) Horses serve more important purposes. For example, horses are used therapeutically for many people with physical and mental disabilities.
3) Over 80% of Americans are disgusted by their peers eating horses. Until this number drops, the majority of us shouldn't have to see Secretariat on the menu.
