I think it's about time we give up this ridiculous idea of representative democracy and bring back the good, old fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone Monarchy. Gone are pay-one-third-of-your-wheat-tribute-keep-your-head-down-and-hope-to-live-past-age-30 glory days. Plus, for the reasonable cost of a little boot licking here and there, monarchical rule does come with some huge upsides. For instance, back in the heyday of no-nonsense unilateral comeuppance, we just hung everyone that spoke out of place rather than subjecting ourselves to suffer under the burden of mutually assuming we have a social obligation to weight everyone's indisputably incisive opinion with equal and unparalleled gravitas. I'll make that trade-off all day long. Who's with me?
