September 11 is more than just a normal day in September. September 11, 2001 is a day when the United States suffered the most devastating attack in the history of this country on U.S. soil. September 11 is by far the most substantial act of terror on this country as nearly 3,000 lives were lost and millions of lives were forever changed. Each September 11 day should be recognized and remembered. The most appropriate way of giving this day the recognition it deserves is by declaring September 11 as a national holiday. Let us mourn the lives that were lost. Let us remember the heroism the firefighters and police officers displayed. Let us remember how we came together as a nation. Let us recognize that freedom isn't free at all.
