Star Trek was about hope and change. It was a vision of a future that included everyone, with no one and nothing left out. It was a possibility that has inspired millions of people, perhaps billions, worldwide.
September 8th of this year will be the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the original series.
We the undersigned are asking the President to declare that day “National Star Trek Day” to honor the most iconic television series in history.
Invite the surviving members of the original cast to the White House. Invite Gene Roddenberry's son. Invite the writers who created the most iconic stories.
A celebration of Star Trek would restore the spirit of the nation, reminding us of who we are and what we can accomplish as a people.
