Shark Week has become a time revered by many Americans over the past 26 years. It's taken as a time to appreciate the majesty of sharks and, now, it's time for the goverment to recognize its importance. Declaring Shark Week a national holiday would promote education on sharks and, by extension, many other kinds of sea life, as well as validating the belief that sharks are the coolest ocean-dwellers around.
