The President should declare the shortage of cancer treating drugs a National Healthcare Emergency. Both Houses of Congress have failed to act since February, when they promised action. The shortages are now at a critical level and children and adults are being denied these life saving treatments. The drugs in question are now generic and a Presidential directive appears necessary to prompt immediate action.
