Declare State and Local Elections (Including Primaries) as Federal Holidays

Created by Z.A. on December 15, 2015

Today, millions of Americans cannot afford to leave their duties at work or school to carry out their right to vote, for various reasons.

Some jobs will not allow employees to leave and vote, instead choosing to endanger our democratic liberties.

Other voters, simply do not have the means to travel to a polling place, as a result of illness, age, transportation, enrollment in college and school, or simply being out of town.

Having an absentee ballot is not always a valid action, especially considering the literal distances many Americans go to in order to provide for their families.

As we are on the eve of a critical election year, declaring that all Elections, be they Primaries, National, State, or Local, be subject to the same conditions as the traditional election day is vital.
