We implore President Barack Obama to declare a natural disaster state of emergency for homelessness in the city of Los Angeles. Decades of ignoring homelessness, has left our fellow citizens existing on the streets in squalor. Sleeping in their own urine and feces with many fighting drug addiction, alcoholism and mental illness issues. Women and children are vulnerable to predators daily. This is a crime against humanity! On any given night the city of LA has more than 27,000 homeless on the street and 47,000 on the street in LA county. LA county is facing a deepening homeless crisis with an estimated 56,000 homeless in LA increasing by 12% annually and more than 70% living unsheltered.
