Declare "Strange Fruit" (by A. Meeropol and popularized by B. Holiday) as the National Anthem. It would be more honest.

Created by W.H. on July 14, 2013

The National Anthem should be designated as "Strange Fruit", a poem written by Abel Meeropol and popularized in song by Billie Holiday. We have a racist economic system, a racist criminal "justice" system, racist divisions in our communities and housing systems, and a racist education system, among others- we should declare our identify freely for the world to accept or judge, and singing "Strange Fruit" before ballgames and Olympic events would do just that.

In the socialized and (not-so-subtly) institutionalized apartheid system of the modern USA, it would be a lot more honest than our current National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. The majority of Americans don't even know what "ramparts" are, nor could many of us properly use "O'er" in a sentence, if asked to on a test.
