Declare Veteran's Day as a public holiday to honor and remember our veterans with services in every city.

Created by K.C. on April 25, 2013

On Veterans Day, most of us go to school or work and it is an ordinary day like any other. There are some services in Washington DC, but it should be in every city and every town that the people attend a service to give thanks to those who have served and remember fallen soldiers.

I was inspired by Australia's ANZAC Day where it is a day that the majority participate in. They hold a 45 minute Dawn Service and/or a 9am service in which there are speeches and hymns, the national anthem is sung, the flag is represented and lowered to half mast, the veterans march as people stand alongside clapping for them, and either cannon are fired or jets fly overhead. This is a fantastic and emotional time in which we show appreciation for our troops and give them the credit they deserve. Please sign!
